Sometimes I like to challenge myself as a Photographer…
The spot these images were taken is one of the most photographed sites on our humble little coast line, so I didn’t want to attempt getting the same photos as others, or even myself.
Our family decided to take our good friend from France to Port Willunga, but I wanted to leave behind the professional cameras I would normally take, this time I opted for my Fuji X100s, which is not the best camera for landscapes. The lens is wide but not wide or zoomed enough for my usual style.
When we made it to the old jetty site, I was almost a little annoyed with myself for not opting for my Nikon cameras…. so I pushed myself to take images in a completely different way.
No tripod, no filters…. just imagination.
Although the sky did not light up how I would have liked, and considering I only had a few minutes to play (so to speak) I was happy with my results. As someone who focusses more on people, it was really refreshing to just get out there and shoot something for shootings sake!
Sometimes we are inspired to work, other times we work for inspiration.
Let me know what you think!
